Bad Weather Shuts Alaska Pipeline Down The Trans-Alaska pipeline has been shut down. The operator says heavy rains may have knocked out remote controls of valves that close in the event of a spill and the flow is stopped whenever the valves don't work.   ¶ 5:08 PM
