  Traffic down spending up in holiday retail debut (Reuters)

On the day after Thanksgiving people rush to get some early Christmas holiday shopping done at a Best Buy store in Fairfax Virginia November 24 2006. (Larry Downing/Reuters)Reuters - Heavy discounts and "door-buster" promotions sent more than 140 million U.S. shoppers to stores during the three-day kickoff to holiday shopping but overall customer traffic was seen falling from last year a retail trade group said on Sunday.
